Luxury vintage handbag, clutch, convertible to shoulder bag made from genuine cobra skin purchased in Thailand in the mid 80s. Not your average purse, shoulder bag by any definition, the workmanship is absolutely fabulous, combining an Art Deco style in an 80s interpretation.
Created from full cobra skins, positioned to emphasize the head rings on the front flap, the skins are glossy and lacquered for protection, and the lining is the softest chamois in a skin colour. Created like an accordion purse, it is very roomy, it opens to two main compartments separated by a third, floating, zippered compartment in the middle. Additional zippered side compartment. Full flap, the purse closes securely with two snaps under the flap. To prevent damage to the skins when worn as a clutch, the purse has a top expandable strap, to slide your hand and lower arm under it, or just use as a hand strap. Removable lobster clasps on both sides, support a long thin shoulder strap, removable (or just tuck it inside the purse when not needed).
The purse/clutch measures 11" by 6.5" by 3" when full, at the base.
COLOR: natural skin colours, an interplay of natural honey, caramel, golden beige and deep brown/black.
MATERIAL: genuine cobra skin.
CONDITION: The purse has been gently worn and lovingly cared for. It is in excellent vintage condition, with NO damage to the skins, NO splits and cracks, basically little to NO signs of previous purse life. No edge or corner wear. One of the gold metal strap slides has detached and is hold in place by two wire stitches, which are tied on the inside. As seen in pictures. The lining is in good condition.
