Talking about vintage iconic scarves...here is one I am happy to add to my 2014 scarves collection.
Vintage 1972 (date of issue is printed on the scarf!) luxury Roberta di Camerino Striped X large silk scarf in a combination of primary and muted colors of navy blue, pure red and deep olive/military green with an elegant buckle and belt motif.
The interplay of colors creates areas of interest through stripes that run in various directions. Using the pattern's direction can create maximum various effects when this extra large scarf is worn.
The scarf is inscribed IN the weave with the designer name and year of issue: 1972
ROBERTA di CAMERINO, delicately signed in the weave, not in cameo (cameos are most of the time so large and tacky, finally a scarf that is gorgeous without screaming "label")
Measures: 34" by 34.5" like all high end scarves, not perfectly square.
FABRIC: pure silk charmeuse,with that unmistakable velvety soft feel, medium heavy weight,
