Incredibly beautiful, striking I could say genuine Sun Sitara wide choker or torsade necklace, with hundreds of free form beads woven into a collar like necklace. The tsones glitter from the high copper content which enhances the dark oxblood red color. UNIQUE! I have not seen a second yet!
The necklace measures 1 1/4" almost by 20", the weave has a rounded shape and falls nicely around the neck. Closes with antiqued bar closure, as seen in pictures.
Condition: vintage, never worn. Impeccable, hand made.
A bit of historical trivia on the origins and significance of the Sun Sitara (sitara means star in Persian) also named Goldstone after the golden (copper actually) sparkling inclusions.
******************
The original manufacturing process for goldstone was invented in seventeenth-century Venice by the Miotti family of artisan jewellers, which were granted an exclusive license by the Doge of Venice. Urban legend says goldstone was an accidental discovery by unspecified Italian monks or the product of alchemy, but there is no real documentation to confirm this.
The most common form of goldstone is reddish-brown, containing tiny crystals of metallic copper that require special conditions to form properly.
Unique as composition, process and color, the Goldstones are said to carry some magical powers for transformation.
Get your own necklace (I have not seen a second one yet!) and watch transformation in action in your own life and mind:)
