Incredible vintage formal dress or costume! I named it Cinderella meets Sabrina gown...remembering the unforgettable Audrey Hepburn's almost identical gown worn in SABRINA. Remember that stunning Parisian white and black full skirt ballgown? Well, this is it.
Just in time for the season of endless parties when we want to look perfectly elegant without breaking the bank.
Superb gown! Created with a boned corset upper made from jet black silk velvet and a full bias cut and rushed skirt. The upper corset is boned both sides, front and back, has a feminine lace-up detail in front which allows for some adjustment to fit a range of bust measurements and creates that waspy narrow waist we secretly wish for (or at least gives us the flattering illusion of it). The gown has a long back zipper and low cut rounded back.
The skirt is made of silvery white organza , printed allover with tulips, with the floral pattern more prevalent at the hem. Lined with a bias cut satin lining in a muted silver grey with a mauve undertone. The gown can be worn with a petticoat underneath to puff it up, but the way it is, the fabric just floats around the skirt effortlessly. The effect is ...well, stunning!
The gown has a matching velvet trimmed wide organza shawl, only the shawl fabric, while identical to the skirt fabric has velvet flowers, like a burnt velvet fabric. The dress and shawl are immaculate, probably never worn but with no tags. You will adore it!
A designer label states *DOLLAR* with not much other indication. The gown has been imported from France.
COLOR: as stated and seen in pictures, BLACK corset , with sheer silvery grey organza skirt, silver/mauve satin lining for an overall silver/smoky and black effect.
FABRIC: silk velvet, organza (synthetic? viscose?) and satiny taffetas lining.
SIZE: medium, for a bust ranging from 36" to maybe 40" can be adjusted through the elasticized laces in front which are backed by organza fabric. Could possibly go even a bit further than 40" bust. Waist is ranging from 25" to 30" maybe a bit more but I measured conservatively, as it does not need to look stretched to the maximum. The gown is 57" long.
CONDITION: immaculate! and ready to wear, looks like it has never been worn, possibly a new old stock? You will love it.
Well, I don't know about you but this would be my dream gown...but I'd have to be much younger and that is definitely not possible at the moment:). For your upcoming graduations, proms parties and more, this dress is...spectacular!
