A simply divine vintage dress from France in immaculate condition in every way with matching custom made nude color slip. A true vintage dress emulating the 1940s Hollywood divas dresses to perfection, a timeless style and a statement dress you will cherish forever! Unforgettable.
I found this dress in a vintage shop in France recently and thought it would be the delight of my North American vintage aficionados.
Here are some details of this subtle, skin tone beige silk dress. The details and workmanship match the overall quality of the dress: the oblique/angle pleated upper bodice creates the illusion of a waspy narrow waist (narrow to begin with but fashion needs illusion anyway). The pleats on the skirt are sewn in on the hips to further emphasize the shape of the body without adding unnecessary pounds. Fix waistband, side zipper and hooks, long sleeves lightly puffing under a minuscule sleeve (not shoulder) pad which keeps them up elegantly, sleeves narrowing towards the cuff. Tiny fabric covered button. No lining, but it has a seamstress made slip in tone on tone color. The deep V neckline is accented by a removable handmade rose pin made from the same sheer fabric and attached with a safety pin. The safety pin has been replaced with a more modern one, it is not the old original. This really looks like couture...too bad I have no leads on origin and maker.
In all honesty, a beautiful dress. Rare vintage dress, worthy of a museum of fashion.

COLOR: ethereal skin colour, soft cream with a hint of blush...just perfect. Refer to pictures.
FABRIC: SHEER silk CREPE.
SIZE: what appears to be a size 0 or 1 France, will correspond to a XS to Small in North American sizes. The bust would go up to 40" but the waist is very narrow at 24", please take the waist as a guide to sizing. Length 46", with 23.5' long sleeves.
CONDITION: immaculate! Perfect in every way, what is considered MINT VINTAGE, a rare condition to come by, a superb investment in a beautiful and quality piece... You will love it!
