AUTHENTIC fitted "BOYFRIEND" style black/cream crinkle jacket, with that unmistakable androgynous Gaultier style, straight from Paris from the 20011 collection of Jean Paul Gaultier.

The eccentric originality of JP Gaultier is again evident in this unusual jacket/blazer combining a classic, fitted, front buttoned boy cut with a unisex, androgynous style and an unusual wrinkled/crinkle fabric. The "boyfriend" , almost "military school uniform" jacket is tightly fitted on the body (it actually takes the shape of your body), closing with leather bound black buttons.
Narrow/skinny cut, made to fit tight on the body, narrow lapels, in black and cream on reverse. The "reverse" theme runs through the whole jacket, everything is lined in and/or showing the cream Milanaise lining. Made to be worn with very wide sailor style French pants and a coquettish black leather Gavroche or newsboy hat...also created to look "used" and wrinkled, the fabric is an extraordinary COUTURE sample: the exterior/shell is a finely ribbed slightly satiny heavy polyamide and the lining is cream milanaise, soft on the skin.
One of the labels reading in 4 languages indicates the manner of caring for the jacket: must be steamed very well, then rolled and twisted tightly and tied until semi-dry. Then hung on hanger ...to maintain the intended shape andcrinkle effect. I know of only TWO French couturiers who are using extraordinary fabrics of this kind to create WEARABLE garments: Gaultier and Sonja Rykiel...and they are in a class of their own. We don't speak about the Galliano and Mc Queen fabrics and the Haute Couture hand embroidered creations but of the very few "real garments for real people" which happen to still be haute couture...lucky us:)

I forgot to mention that the jacket IS a Lady's jacket (the label confirms it) but it closes like a man's jacket, to the left...unconventional, to emphasize the unisex style. Probably in line with his new unisex perfume line Gaultier II..the gender lines are blurred, masculine and feminine merge in a universal style. Not for the weak of heart, obviously:) but for the fashion forward.
