Absolutely authentic vintage 80s VALENTINO Couture evening tunic with marabou feathers.
Created from a couture Devore fabric of sheer black silk with velvet "flames" and doubled in a sheer skin color layer, the tunic has a slightly flared shape, a deep and wide "V" neckline, side slits and slightly bell or cloche sleeves bordered with marabou. The sleeves appear more bell than they are due to the wide marabou...an eccentric addition to the garment but incredibly elegant and sexy all in one.
The top dates from the early 1980s, has a unique character to it and is from Valentino's INTIMO line...would that suggest this is a lingerie item? Possibly, but it is very elegant and equally suitable as an evening tunic over a palazzo wide leg pant, a long skirt and even better, over a strapless mini or long dress. Spectacular tunic!
Authentic *VALENTINO from the Intimo line* (partial label under the designer label is missing so I do not know where it was made, being a Valentino I assume it was made in Milan)
AGE: as I mentioned, approximately 1980s.
SIZE: no size marked, the tunic will fit a bust up to 42 maximum (however, I do not recommend a tight fit), is 29" long and has a sleeve of 22" measured from the shoulder including the wide marabou cuffs.
COLOUR:Black on black with black marabou.
FABRIC: as I said, that particular tag is partially missing, I assume and am positive it is a 100% silk& silk velvet outer with a sheer milanaise lining. The reverse of the tag still shows "Dry clean only".
CONDITION: like everything I am offering, this is a luxury garment in absolutely pristine condition. I consider this garment in absolutely MINT vintage condition, a rare collectible, visually spectacular, worthy of a museum of fashion and obviously, very rare to come by.
